



1978年南投縣政府在光華島上設置了「月下老人亭」,供遊客膜拜祈願,每年舉行的「水上集團結婚」總吸引不少情侶來參加。1999年 921地震後,月下老人已移至龍鳳宮供奉。而「光華島」也正名為拉魯島(Lalu)。南投縣政府指定拉魯島為邵族祖靈聖地,以表對邵族人的尊重, 2000年邵族人在島上種下茄苳樹,象徵卲族子孫世代文化綿延不絕。
拉魯島到現在仍有其神聖性和象徵的意義,邵族人相信他們的最高祖靈就是居住在拉魯,依照傳統,凡是想學做「先生媽」(邵人對傳統祭師的稱呼)的婦女,都必須由資深的先生媽陪同,乘船登上拉魯島,去感受最高祖靈的啟示,得到應允之後才算是取得入門資格;由此可見,拉魯島在邵族人心目中的神聖地位。(文字取自日月潭國家風景區網站)
